RSFF "Fly Fishing 101" - Sat, April 9

The Red Stick Fly Fishers will hold their 6th annual "Fly Fishing 101" clinic on Saturday, April 9, 2011, from 8:30am to 2:30pm, at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries' Waddill Education Center at 4142 Flannery in Baton Rouge. The clinic teaches fundamentals of the sport of fly fishing, such as equipment and presentation, along with hands-on learning in skills such as casting, leaders and knots, and fly tying.

The clinic is free to members of FFF clubs, and $25 for non club members (which covers 1-year membership in RSFF). Handouts, coffee, lunch, and refreshments are provided. The club has rods, reels, fly tying vises, and materials available for instruction. However, if you have equipment, it is advised to bring it as it's best to learn on what you own.

Early registration is required as attendance is limited to the first 30 students. To register for Fly Fishing 101, or for more details, go to the Red Stick website at http://www.rsff.org/.
